Amigos is a full Spanish immersion preschool. All lessons, interactions, songs, books, and games are in Spanish.
Immersion allows for the fastest absorption and understanding of a second language. Young students are able to naturally pick up the sounds and decipher meaning with minimal effort. Within two weeks, many students begin to use simple Spanish words and follow multi-step instructions from the teacher.
All classroom teachers are native Spanish speakers from various countries. Not only do they teach their language, but they also share their cultural traditions with the Amigos community.
Play is essential for preschool children to learn and grow. Spontaneous play fosters healthy development and sets a foundation for future social and academic success. Our main goal at Amigos is to create a fun and enriching learning environment.
Each classroom is divided into various sections: reading, dramatic play, science, art, music, trains, and more. The children have the opportunity to work in groups, pairs, or individually at the centers they choose. As students play, teachers promote social and problem-solving skills.
Amigos teachers create interactive acitivies that support reading, literacy, math, and critical thinking skills. Children have the rest of their lives to sit at a desk and do worksheets. You will not see that at Amigos!
